Standard Superla Sieve Test Sieves are assembled using a proprietary state-of-the-art technology polymeric adhesive. This adhesive has been tested and Certified in Compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Pharmacopeia Biological Reactivity Tests, In Vivo – USP Plastic Class VI specification! This approval rating is given to medical devices/implants that come in contact with the body’s fluids. Based on the above certification, this adhesive while not tested, is also suitable for Food Grade applications.

Adhesive withstands most laboratory cleaning agents (when used in accordance with the manufacturers directions) – Isopropyl Alcohol, CIP 100, Duofoam, and the more traditional ultrasonic cleaning bath. It is best to test any cleaning agent before using it to ensure compatibility. Be advised, this adhesive will break down if the Test Sieves are submerged for any extended period of time. A quick rinse with the cleaning agent followed by a water rinse works well without any damage to the integrity of the adhesive.

Test Sieves are autoclaveable! Adhesive withstands the elevated temperatures and wet environment of an autoclave. “Sample” test sieves have been autoclaved for well over (50) cycles at 260°F and the wire mesh is intact – the screen is taut and securely bonded to the test sieve frame. (Please note – polymeric adhesive will turn from a clear color to a slight amber color over time). |
